Every year since 2009 we have come together for an evening of dining, dancing and art in early November to raise much needed funds for the Ice House and the ongoing work of the Morgan Arts Council (MAC) in fulfilling its mission of “Getting Art Out There!” It is the biggest and most successful fundraising event of our year and a major contributor to our programming and home, the Ice House. In the face of a very challenging year we are continuing that tradition, though – as you know – public health guidelines limit our ability for a social gathering of this size, an evening that we will all sorely miss.
In the spirit of “The Show Must Go On!” we are inviting you to join us with your support as we come to the end of what promises to be one of the most unusual years that any of us can recall. So many lives have been disrupted and too many lost. In the midst of this tumult and pain, art reminds us that the world remains a beautiful place and the human spirit of creativity and expression lets us express our hope and frustration to enrich our individual and collective well-being. MAC is dedicated to keeping these alive with our ongoing programming through youth and adult education, art exhibits, public art, and so much more.
As we embark on our next phase of Ice House renovation – known as “Spring for the Sprinklers” – you as sponsors, supporters, and contributors are the heart and soul of our energy. We know we are asking you to take a leap of faith, but as you know our work and our facility are vital to this community by serving as a major tourism draw and community center, through our teaching art in Morgan County schools, and our vital role in providing an outlet for over thirty local artists to display and sell their work.
We believe in the art of the possible and we’re asking you to join us. Your contributions will also provide you with some fun and unique wearable art and the opportunity to bid in our limited online art auction. While we’ll miss our time together, we can be together in spirit. We appreciate your ongoing support and belief in our mission and look forward to gathering for an evening of celebration next year!
